To mark HH Sheikh Mohammed’s 77th birthday, 77 nationalities will plant flame trees at DAMAC Hills
Dubai, UAE – 14 July 2026: Paying tribute to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on his 77th birthday, people from 77 nationalities will gather at DAMAC Hills on July 15 to plant flame trees.
Amira Sajwani, Managing Director of DAMAC Properties, said: “Dubai’s story has always been one of unity, progress and vibrant diversity. On behalf of the entire DAMAC family, we wish His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum lasting happiness, abundant success and many more years of his visionary leadership. Through the planting of flame trees, we are honoured to support our leadership’s ambition to build a greener, sustainable and more beautiful city for future generations.”
The tree planting at DAMAC Hills is conceptualised and executed by DAMAC Properties, the largest private real estate developer in the UAE and the Middle East. It is part of the Flame Tree Initiative now underway across DAMAC communities and buildings in Dubai. DAMAC aims to plant 30,000 flame trees by 2030.
Launched under the directive of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, the Flame Tree Initiative is designed to enhance the city’s natural landscape, provide deep shade and cooler temperatures during the summer months.
Flame trees ( Delonix regia) are tropical trees native to Madagascar, celebrated globally for their vibrant, fiery scarlet and orange blossoms. They thrive in Dubai’s summer, adding dramatic colour to urban landscapes.
